Cozy and Lush Fall Old Edwards Inn Destination Wedding | Jenna + Jack
We’re lucky that so many incredible venues are located in Atlanta, and we also feel equally as fortunate that a number of stunning destination spaces aren’t too far away. One of the cities that everyone on our team absolutely loves is Highlands, North Carolina. It’s a beautiful town with magnificent views located in the Appalachian Mountains, and it’s also home to the Old Edwards Inn, one of the most popular and stunning venues in the area. And, we’re so grateful we got to experience all of the beauty of Highlands and the Old Edwards Inn when we coordinated Jenna and Jack’s rehearsal dinner and wedding day.
Just like us, Jenna and Jack were captivated by Highlands, North Carolina for their November wedding day. It’s such a perfect spot for a cozy wedding weekend because the Inn’s spaces are immaculate, and there’s not a shortage of views to enjoy and grounds to explore outside. Combined, it’s a spot that J and J imagined guests would eagerly travel to for a weekend celebration away—and they were absolutely right!
Jenna and Jack wanted their guests to leave their wedding weekend feeling as though they had truly experienced the beauty of Highlands and the Old Edwards Inn, so they kicked things off at The Spring House. The night began with a two-hour intimate dinner with Jenna and Jack’s parents and closest friends. Then the evening grew into a full wedding welcome party for two more hours that included even more of J and J’s loved ones. It was such a wonderful night, and the fun only continued the next day!
On Jenna and Jack’s wedding day, they each spent their mornings getting ready with their bridesmaids and groomsmen. The Farm at Old Edwards Inn has the cutest Bridal House to get ready in and Jenna and her girls took full use of the house that morning. Before the couple saw each other during their first look, Jenna and her bridesmaids shared their own first look together. We always love watching the bridesmaids’ expressions during this moment because they all always look so genuinely surprised and joyful as they see one of their favorite ladies all dressed up for her wedding day.
The Old Edwards Inn has some of the most beautiful grounds, and they were in bloom with rich fall colors on Jenna and Jack’s wedding day. So, an outdoor first look was a must! Jenna and Jack were so happy to finally see each other for the first time on their wedding day, and their portrait session with Lauren Bailey Photography captures all of their emotions so perfectly—they were ready to have fun! Of course, their wedding party was equally as thrilled to capture photos in advance of the ceremony with them.
As the ceremony time neared, guests began to find their seats on either side of the aisle inside The Orchard House at the Farm. It’s a gorgeous all-white space that fills with some of the best natural light (even on a rainy day, like Jenna and Jack experienced!), and we love how Flourish Florals added to the beauty by creating aisle and altar arrangements overflowing with blooms. This was the perfect spot for Jenna and Jack to officially become husband and wife!
Because they hosted their wedding in the fall in the mountains, a cozy reception atmosphere was a must. Round guest tables featured tall or low arrangements filled with ivory blooms and pops of blush and red, while the long wooden head table was lined exclusively with low centerpieces and plenty of taper candles.
After Jenna and Jack saw their reception space together with their families for the first time (a moment we love!), their guests were invited inside. Everyone enjoyed a delicious menu created by the Old Edwards Inn team as well as cake from Mrs. Sugar Booger. Of course, a great wedding day simply isn’t complete unless there’s plenty of dancing! And Atlanta Wedding Band absolutely delivered.
Between the wonderful rehearsal dinner in town to the beauty of the Farm at Old Edwards Inn, Jenna and Jack’s destination wedding weekend could not have been more wonderful. We still think about these incredible days often, and we cannot wait to return to Highlands again very soon—there’s simply nowhere like it! Congratulations again, Jenna and Jack. You two are so special.
