Industrial Fall Wedding at The Foundry at Puritan Mill | Kate + Austin
There is something for just about any wedding style in Atlanta, and it’s one of the things we enjoy the most about coordinating celebrations in our home city. There are locations that we love for formal events, garden-inspired soirees, and modern celebrations, and there are even venues that are perfect for industrial fetes. One space that we can’t recommend highly enough for industrial, modern wedding days is The Foundry at Puritan Mill.
The Foundry at Puritan Mill effortlessly combines history together with industrial style in Atlanta’s Westside. It’s had many iterations since it was first built, including time spent as a manufacturing site, and we have to admit that we appreciate it the most as a spot for beautiful and cool wedding days like the one we coordinated for Kate and Austin.
Kate and Austin celebrated their wedding day at The Foundry at Puritan Mill in the fall, and it was one of the best days of our season. They each spent the morning getting ready before they saw each other for the first time during their outdoor first look. As much as we loved witnessing their emotions and their love for each other, one of our favorite aspects of this part of their day is their backdrop! The leaves had changed color and were falling beautifully around them, and the industrial buildings added such a fantastic sense of place too. It’s one of the things we know Kate and Austin appreciated the most about their wedding venue!
The couple chose to recite their vows before their wedding ceremony, which is something that’s becoming more and more popular. Doing this allows you to keep your nerves in check, and it also offers an opportunity for an incredibly beautiful and intimate moment that only your photographer (and videographer) are privy to watching.
During the ceremony, Kate walked down the aisle on the arm of her dad as Austin and their guests looked on. We have to point out how beautiful Kate’s bouquet and their neutral arrangements by Blosm looked against the rich wood tones featured throughout the space! K and A officially became a married pair, and we think this part of their day was just as special as it would have been even if they had changed their vows in front of their guests.
Guests mingled together while Kate and Austin retreated outside to capture couple’s portraits, and the lighting was once again perfect! During this time, the ceremony space was flipped into the reception space, and it truly came alive. String lights were strung between the exposed wooden beams, which provided a beautiful glow throughout the venue. A long wooden head table lined with tall centerpieces set the stage for the wedding party, and round tables complete with white tablecloths and lower centerpieces created the perfect spots for guests to enjoy the menu Fox Bros BBQ created.
Kate and Austin’s dance floor stayed packed for the entire night, thanks to their DJ One Night Entertainment, and they only paused for speeches and cake. Kate even changed into a shorter reception dress for dancing! At the end of the night, the fun officially came to a close as Kate and Austin ran toward their waiting car as guests cheered and waved ribbon wands. It was the perfect end to an excellent day for an incredible couple we completely enjoyed working with from start to finish.
