A Disco Themed Wedding in the Park at Piedmont Garden Tent | Lauren and Bryan

Piedmont Park is beloved by Atlantans for its beautiful green spaces and views of the city, and it’s also home to one of our favorite venues, Piedmont Room and Piedmont Garden Tent. We’re always thrilled to return to both spaces because they enable couples to host their ceremonies and receptions in one place, and they’re easily transformed, too, which was perfect for Lauren and Bryan.

We’re always excited when couples want to seriously lean into a theme, and Lauren and Bryan had their hearts set on a disco wedding theme. Lauren chose to wear a beautiful and simple ivory slip dress, but she jazzed it up by pairing it with a pearl-adorned cape. Bryan was in on the fun too because he wore a metallic silver tuxedo jacket to complete his dapper look. Because the couple had such serious style, we were eager to see how their family and friends embraced the theme too—and their looks did not disappoint (Lauren’s dad sported a velvet sports coat!).

Lauren and Bryan knew they wanted to embrace the venue’s covered tent and outdoor spaces, and they absolutely succeeded. They held their first look inside the bridal suite, and we loved how the moment happened in a space with an exposed brick wall for added texture, color, and ambiance. Of course, we were thrilled when L+B wanted to capture portraits together and with their wedding party and families in the park, they even included their dog too. It’s such a beautiful space, made even prettier by the incredible weather Lauren and Bryan got to enjoy on their wedding day.

The couple’s ceremony was hosted outside (something we always recommend whenever possible) at Piedmont Garden Tent. Bright flowers in low arrangements lined the aisle, and some of the same blooms were included in Lauren’s bouquet, too. Our favorite detail of all was the ombré draping that acted as an altar backdrop—the colors looked perfect, and the draping blew so wonderfully in the breeze.

After their ceremony and time spent in cocktail hour, the reception space under the tent was revealed to Lauren and Bryan. Bright flowers were placed in low centerpieces on the tables, guest drank out of mini disco ball cups and disco balls  were sprinkled around the tent so the vibe was felt throughout the venue. But our favorite detail was the disco balls that hung over the dance floor that Carla from On Occasions of Atlanta put together. They glittered against the light and acted as the perfect final touch to really pull the theme together!

Between the details, the menu created by Piedmont Room, the music played by Emerald Empire Band, and the warm and fun personalities of Lauren and Bryan, this wedding was so enjoyable for us to coordinate and equally as wonderful to look back on. We can’t wait to return back to the Piedmont Garden Tent and the Piedmont Room again soon; the team is simply the best.

“Would recommend to anyone planning a wedding big or small! They made our day easy and seamless! They were the most generous with their time and knowledge!"
