Sydney and Barry's Timeless Wedding at The Georgian Terrace

From houses of worship to venues, Atlanta can welcome couples and weddings that span a complete variety of styles. Pairs can wed in one location and celebrate in another, or they can choose to do both at the same venue. There are museums, gardens, ballrooms, and so much more, which is why it’s easy for us to say options abound in Atlanta. Sharing all a couple can do in our favorite city and embracing the style of their choosing is something we love most about our roles as coordinators. As we coordinated Sydney and Barry’s wedding day, we embraced all things chic and classic.

When Sydney and Barry were dreaming about their wedding day, they quickly set their sights on curating a timeless celebration filled with elegant details. She envisioned walking down the aisle at a church, which her family has history with; they knew they wanted to dance while a live band played; and they wanted to enjoy an intentional first meal together with their guests in a ballroom complete with neutral floral centerpieces. Peachtree Christian Church and The Georgian Terrace fit their ideals beautifully.

Until their unique “first moment” together, Sydney and Barry spent their mornings apart. She and her bridesmaids were tucked away in the penthouse at The Georgian Terrace enjoying hair and makeup and brunch, while Barry and his groomsmen created their own celebratory mood. As their ceremony drew nearer, Sydney put on her wedding dress from Mandi Jackson Bridal Salon before revealing the design to her bridesmaids. We love when brides share this moment with the ladies who mean the most to them! And, we also have to point out the incredible bow on Sydney dress! Then Barry and Sydney shared a moment together on the staircase at The Georgian Terrace with an important caveat – they were on opposite floors so sweet Lindsey of Lindsey Morgan Photography could capture this unique shot without S+B ever seeing each other.

Sydney and Barry’s wedding ceremony at Peachtree Christian Church was filled with more classic details. The music included “Canon in D” and “Wedding March” while the bridesmaids and Sydney and her father walked down the aisle. The ceremony continued, and Sydney and Barry shared more moments together, including reciting their vows and exchanging their rings before they recessed back down the aisle as husband and wife. Another unique aspect about S+B’s day is they filmed their ceremony and live streamed it for guests to watch at The Georgian Terrace due to the ongoing pandemic. Sydney and Barry were so considerate of their guests, and they provided a table of different color wrist bands for their guests to wear to show the level of social distancing each guest was comfortable with.

After capturing photos and sharing a celebratory trolley ride back to The Georgian Terrace, Sydney and Barry were captured during one of our favorite wedding moments – the reveal of their reception space. The chandeliers inside the ballroom at The Georgian Terrace glowed overhead. Tables had centerpieces by K & Co Floral Design filled with hydrangeas, roses, and greenery in Sydney and Barry’s neutral palette, with a personal touch of lottery tickets as favors at each place setting, and Flavor Atlanta was ready to welcome guests onto the dance floor. These two were delighted, and we loved witnessing their happiness!

Sydney and Barry’s first dance was to “This Will Be” by Natalie Cole, and they shared dances with their parents to “Unforgettable” by Nat King Cole and Natalie Cole (Sydney and her dad) and “What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong (Barry and his mom). After dinner, guests flooded onto the dance floor as the band kicked into their high-energy set. Then Sydney and Barry cut their beautiful white wedding cake by The Frosted Pumpkin. Before anyone could believe it was the end of the night, it was time for guests to enjoy their late-night McDonald’s snack thrown to them by Barry himself from the stage and cheer as Sydney and Barry shared one final wedding moment during their sparkler exit.

“We were thrilled to work with Just About Love! They were perfect! I have nothing but great things to say. They managed every aspect to the T. Our day ran so smoothly, all thanks to Lauren and Cathy. They both follow through on everything, making you feel like a high priority. I wish I could have another wedding just to work with them again. They are the BEST!” ~ Sydney Sutlive

We think it’s clear but it’s always worth mentioning again: Sydney and Barry, we loved coordinating your wedding day.
